I have been knitting the first yarn I spun into a scarf.
We brought Polvorones De Almendra to the shoebox party.
Thank you to everyone who brought shoeboxes, we got 42 and they are probably going to Mexico again this year.
Grandma Kathie came over on Wedneday and helped us cook for Thanksgiving.
Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.
Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations
(King James Version)

My dad made dinner recently, it was delicious.
Idleness is the parent of every vice...Labor of all kinds favors and facilitates the practice of virtue.

I made dinner last night.
I got these while we were in Minneappolis this weekend.
Mama and I went to Minneappolis with Grandma Mary and Papa Richard this weekend. This is the view from our window on the 24th floor.

Life has loveliness to sell, all beautiful and splendid things,
Blue waves whitened on a cliff, soaring fire that sways and sings,
And children's faces looking up holding wonder like a cup.

The Cat of Bubastes is by G. A. Henty. He wrote it in 1888!
The story is set in Ancient Egypt at the time of the Isralites' slavery in Egypt. The main characters are Chebron the son of Ameres high priest of Osiris, Mysa Chebron's younger sister, Amuba Chebron's slave and best friend, Jethro Mysa's slave and Amuba's friend from before they were captured, and Ruth an Isralite girl who waits on Mysa.
In Ancient Egypt, cats were sacred, so when Chebron accidentaly kills a cat, Ameres is killed and they are forced to flee. But then, Mysa and Ruth mysteriously disappear. Will they be able to rescue the girls? How will they leave Egypt without getting caught?
This is a good book because it helps you to understand life in Ancient Egypt while keeping a theme of the one true God throughout. This book was written before the revised chronology, so the Isralites' are placed during the reign of Thotmes III. A date which we now know to be incorrect. Also, there are some descriptions of battles which may be inapropriate for some children. However, it is a very good and engaging book.
“It was a cheerful, hopeful letter, full of … fatherly love …’I know… that they will be loving children to you, will do their duty faithfully, fight their bosom enemies bravely, and conquer themselves so beautifully that when I come back to them I may be fonder and prouder than ever of my little women.’” Little Women by Louisa May Alcott
I am thirteen years old living in a Christian Homeschooling family with my Mother, my father, my sister Hanna (9) and my brother Spencer (10).
We are currently going through the adoption process, hoping to adopt an infant from somewhere in the United States, praying and trusting God that he has the right child/children for our family.
